I was scrolling through every article I'd ever written for Locked in Christ when it hit me. Two plates of food are more than enough. Who in the world is ever finishing what's on the 3rd plate? The 3rd plate is really just the pregame to tomorrow's lunch. That's the one that goes in a to-go box. And you get back started on it in the car, and pretty much finish it before you get home.
That's exactly what's happening with biblical learning.
I sat there staring at all these long-form pieces, each one packed with good, savory, solid food—the type of food that definitely rocks you to sleep. And this is why most believers are still on their first plate. Because in 2025, with the world going so fast and so much to do, who got time to be going to sleep every time they eat?
Like, hello?
They're not coming back for seconds, let alone thirds. And when they do spin the block for it, that's when their body's fully digested it and we're probably into the next 24 hours.
It's like Americans and their love affair with the vegan option at McDonald's. They just love the idea of eating something that sounds healthy without the longer wait times. Quick impact beats the long length of wind every single time.
And here I am, feeling thrilled and intrigued and perplexed all at once—whatever that means—because the Lord is asking me to tackle this exact dilemma in the body of Christ.
Everyone says believers should feast on hours of deep teaching, commit to marathon prayer sessions, dive into theological complexities. But the reality? Most people are only willing to grab biblical fast food between meetings, hoping for a nourishing revelation that they can actually digest.
So, as the Holy Spirit leads, I'm switching up the menu. Less farm-to-table, more fresh-to-go. Not because it's inferior, but because it's accessible. Quick quality for the Kingdom. Small portions of substance that actually get consumed.
Maybe that third plate was never the point anyway.
Stay locked in Christ.
I would spin the block for thirds but that fresh to go…sounds more appetizing lol
