If you're locked in with Christ, it's because you're chosen. Why do I say that, and how can I say that? I say that because I know, and I'm able to say that because God told me so. You know that you cannot draw near to the Father unless He draws near to you.
When it comes to answering the call of the drawing, just know: You're not called to be understood. You are called to understand.
I'm going to say it again: You are not called to be understood, but you are called to understand. You are not called to be understood by anybody but God, but you are called to understand many things—but especially God.
What You Are Called to Understand
You are not called to understand the flesh, but you are called to understand the spirit.
You are not called to understand wickedness, but you are called to understand holiness.
You are not called to understand the adversary, but you are called to understand the Messiah.
You are not called to understand rebellion, but you are called to understand obedience.
You are not called to understand bitterness, but you are called to understand forgiveness.
You are not called to understand hatred, but you are called to understand love.
You are not called to understand confusion, but you are called to understand clarity.
You are not called to understand fear, but you are called to understand His peace that surpasses all understanding.
You are not called to understand gluttony, but you are called to understand fasting.
You are not called to understand lawlessness, but you are called to understand His word.
You are not called to understand the world, but you are called to understand the kingdom.
You are not called to understand hell, but you are called to understand heaven.
You are not called to understand whoredom, but you are called to understand faithfulness.
You are not called to understand fatigue, but you are called to understand rest.
You are not called to understand the demonic, but you are called to understand the holy.
Understanding the People in Your Life
When it comes to the people in your life—whether they have always been in your life, whether they are new to your life, whether they are leaving your life—understand this:
They may not be called to love you, but they are called to respect you.
They may not be called to understand you, but they are called to get understanding.
They may not be called to agree with you. They may not be called to hear you. They may not be called to see you. They may not be called to support you. They may not be called to befriend you. They may not be called to help you. They may not be called to look out for you.
But understand this: They may be called to derail you. They may be called to sabotage you. They may be called to abuse you. They may be called to disrespect you. They may be called to betray you. They may be called to be jealous of you. They may be called to envy you. They may be called to mock you. They may be called to ignore you. They may be called to mishandle you. They may be called to misplace you. They may be called to defeat you.
But in your understanding of the things of God, you are called to overstand those things of the devil that they have been called to do to you by the devil.
Your understanding of the things of God will cause you to overstand the schemes and tactics of he who is called to kill, steal, and destroy. And understand that he was never called to that by the same One who called you to Himself. He allowed his flesh—the mere calling of his flesh—is what he decided to draw near to. That's the calling that he answered.
But you are called to answer not that call, but the call of your heavenly Father.
Living Out the Call
Which is why when you answer the call, as you enter that call, as you are one with God, He will begin to tell you to walk out of the world. And then you will begin to walk into the word, so that you can live out the call.
The Key Understanding
In all things, we must get understanding. And the understanding to get from this is: The understanding of the things of God will cause you to overstand the things that are not of God.
You are not called to understand the things of this world or the people of this world, but you are called to understand how to navigate this world and how to interact with and treat the people of this world—within the parameters of the understanding of God and who He is and who He has called you to be.
